The vineyard of Côtes de Gascogne
Situated between winemaking giants, Bordeaux to the northwest, and Languedoc to the east, France’s Southwest includes the Côtes de Gascogne (or Gascony) appellation, home to Colombelle wines. With its oceanic climate tempered by the Landes forests to the west, the Pyrenees to the south and just the right mix of sunshine, rain and coolness.
Gascony provides ideal conditions to get the
best from its vineyards.
The south and east facing slopes (grave and clay) are planted with red grape varieties. The steeper western slopes of the vineyard with clay and limestone are home to the white varieties.
